Hypnotherapy

Ericksonian Hypnotherapy uses a deeply relaxed state to work with the unconscious mind.

”You use hypnosis not as a cure but as a means of establishing a favourable climate in which to learn.“ Milton H. Erickson, 1901 - 1980

Have you ever been engrossed in a book, captivated by art or simply day dreamed? These are natural states that are similar in experience to being in a hypnotic, relaxed state. This relaxed state is used to quiet your conscious mind and allow language patterns, stories and metaphor to engage your unconscious mind in the change work. Your unconscious mind is open to creative insights and is free to develop different (more helpful) ways of thinking, feeling or behaving.

We can integrate hypnotherapy in psychotherapy and counselling to support your learning and change work. Or hypnotherapy can be brief (6-12 sessions), and focused on a particular issue (e.g. stress management), with top-up sessions at a later date. Some of the issues I work with include:

Stress management
Anxiety management
Panic attacks
Fears and phobias
Compulsive habit change
Goal setting and motivation
Life- transitions
Confidence building

My work is supported and bound by the good practice and ethical frameworks of my training and professional registration bodies.
